Lives and works in Los Angeles, CA
Wendell Frank's work is unmistakably distinct in its use of dramatic gestural lines, entirely dictated by his impulsive movements. This signature aesthetic is a result of Frank's unique condition, which restricts his ability to hold a paintbrush with anything but his mouth. His works have often been compared to those of American Abstract Expressionist painter Franz Kline, and although they are small in scale, they are nevertheless always striking in presence. Wendell Frank is a professional artist with special needs who has been working out of
ECF Art Centers Culver City studio for over five years. He is represented by DAC Gallery, where he regularly exhibits. ECF Art Centers is an adult program of the Exceptional Children's Foundation, a Los Angeles-based nonprofit organization that provides services to adults and children with developmental disabilities.
