Paul Greeley

Paul Greeley has worked at the ECF Art Centers’ South LA studio since 1968! Greeley’s body of work is the result of an intensely unique character and distinctive creative process. His recent body of work is largely comprised of mixed media, combining text with sharp and expressive abstract strokes of color. For several years, his work was almost entirely made up of marker drawings on high gloss paper, juxtaposing the intensity and energy of his abrupt abstract marks with slick surfaces.

Greeley has been part of the ECF Art Centers Program for over forty years. Music is central to his everyday life, so much so that he carries a small hand held radio with him throughout the entire day. His favorite song is “Free Falling” by Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers. When he is not in the studio, Greeley enjoys the out doors, specifically snowy mountains, and spends as much time as he can with his brother.
